New Home Products

In the homebuilding industry we are seeing many new products that are available in today’s market that were not even made 20 years ago.  Some of the items have even been new and are now kind of done already.  We see different colors in appliances. One year we see a particular color being popular and then that same color disappears.  Think of the last time you saw a gold or avacado refrigerator.  In today’s market we are seeing a return to many of the hardwood floors and tiles.  These, however, are not the hardwood and tile from 20 years ago but a new version that has more definition and grain than ever before. We are now seeing new window combinations and much more in the energy efficient product line.  Some of the changes are code required but most are consumer driven.  As we see energy costs rising rightfully so, the consumer is chosing to save money in the long term with higher SEER rated heating and air conditioning units and variable speed air handlers.  These can be great money saving ideas that were not available to the new home buyer 20 years ago.  This is not to mention the possibility of the geothermal systems and other options.  Here in the Hagerstown, MD market we see many of these products and find most to be very affordable and practical for the buyer.  To summarize it is great to be able to say that many of these new products are reliable, inexpensive and a great savings to today’s buyer.  Now is truely a great opportunity for the new home buyer.
